The creative light within every person has a purpose. It’s a way to experience personal joy and fulfillment by fully expressing your unique traits in the world. The other essential aspect of your creative light is how it enables you to connect with others and share freely, so you may each directly experience gifts you don’t have personally.
When you look at the big picture, often what divides us is what we think we do or do not have. Yet, if every single person had the same talents, interests and success stories, what would we actually learn from connecting with each other? How would we practice empathy, selflessness or unconditional love?
As much as finding your tribe is essential to cultivate camaraderie and a feeling of belonging, it’s equally important to see how you can use your creative light as a touch point of relatability with everyone. It’s like a soul introduction or calling card.
Creative Superpowers are Triggered When you Acknowledge Creative Gifts
Creative gifts are part of your natural self expression. They can include an inherent or learned skill, a way of thinking, how you see the world and millions of other characteristics or capabilities. However, it’s only when you acknowledge and appreciate your creative gifts that you unlock creative superpowers – as well as the ability to use them in interesting ways.
For example, people who don’t feel comfortable with writing can connect with me for help, but beyond the technical skill, they experience how I use my empathy and intuition to influence my writing at a much deeper level. My creative light and how I use it may inspire them to look within their own heart and bring life to the voice they’ve long ignored or didn’t think was important. It may also serve as an example of how to use mindfulness to enhance their creative self-expression. I do all this just by sharing my gifts.
Creative exchange is also a feedback loop. As I support others through creativity, I get it back, ten-fold. In millions of small ways people influence my point of view, ideas and creative insights every single day. I listen freely to what they are willing to share and learn from it, pass it along or integrate it into my meditations or writing.
When you can see your creative light as the important force it is, it changes your perspective on everything. You understand the big impact you can create and share within the smallest of exchanges. The joy you have in sharing your creative light expands. The lens you use to view your quality of life improves exponentially as you begin to realize it’s not about doing grand things as much as being the creative light you already are – and freely sharing that self- expression.
The next time you don’t think your creative light makes a difference for you or anyone else, take a chance and be willing to share it anyway. The impact you make may not show results you can measure in a tangible way, but the joy you create within your heart by practicing the art of being you is unmistakable.
